A Turning Point, COVID-19 and Getting Back to Happy

March 2020 was a turning point.

“Stay at home, and only leave the house for essentials. No visitation of family or friends, and work from home if you can.”

Millions were fired or furloughed all over the world, millions of square feet of rental space were made vacant. Children were homeschooled, teachers began to teach from home. Therapists, coaches, and group sessions all went virtual.

Surgeries…better not need any serious medical treatment, as COVID-19 consumed the resources in hospitals.

Millions of people struggled to feed their families or keep their homes.

We all adapted to the environment with more or less ease.

Some people have had a harder time adjusting because they don’t know how to create a new environment for themselves. Many of us have built up some level of fear depending on our circumstances. One thing is for sure, all of us have developed some level of “hypervigilance” during this time, depending on the...

My friend eats garbage (junk food) How can I talk to them?

I don’t like telling people how to live, just because I have a different set of guidelines for my own nutrition. What happens? The person only is able to filter the message that they are doing something WRONG!  They shut off from new information and that is that. Here are some ideas for opening up conversations about healthy food choices.

Start with a question, invite them to reflect:

It seems like you really like that _____, what about it do you like so much?  Wait for them to answer...

A)  If they reveal that they have guilt, and you should follow up with asking why they eat it if they know it is not healthy.

B)  If they show that they haven’t thought about it, showing a lack of awareness, your next move is to ask if they have ever wondered what that food contains, or why it is your ‘go to’ choice?

Would you like to eat differently?

Would you like to do better?

Awareness is...

3 Habits That Are Holding You Back

  1. Multitasking - This actually isn’t really a thing.  People use this term all the time, but in reality, none of us can ever do two or more things at a time.  Physically and mentally, put together, we must be present in order to get it right.  When we are doing too much, accidents occur.
  2. Not knowing what you really want - We focus consciously on the things we don’t want; failure, loss, extra weight, the list goes on.  When we visualize our ideal self living in the present moment, the subconscious mind will make it happen.
  3. Comparing yourself to others - There are two ways people do this, and the first is visual. When we see people, we automatically make an idea about them in our head.  The other way is catching yourself when you are comparing yourself to others with things that you cannot see.  Examples of this are “She has everything so put together, why can’t I do that? Why does my life feel so chaotic?”

Sleep better tonight, 3 Must Do things that will knock you out, in a good way

Hello friends,

I work with many clients whose first issue they seek help with is sleeping better.  We have conditioned ourselves with habits that are actually getting in the way of our brain's natural needs, to steadily prepare for a good night's rest.

Nights are designed to sleep. With all the technology interaction at night, our brain gets confused. While we are in front of a tv or laptop or phone our brain understands in daylight because the brain doesn’t know any better and stays wired keeping us awake until we turn screens off. Then the brain needs some time to realize that means sleep time by releasing melatonin to put our brain to sleep. Then the brain starts the cell restoration process and resting time. When we spend time in front of a tv, it is time we are shaving from restoring and resting causing all kinds of health issues or sleep deprivation. Under these circumstances our brain can function 100% the next day. Use these easy peasy technics to train...

How To Stop Self-Sabotaging Your Health Goals

When we set up goals for our life, the best and most effective thing to do is to narrow them down to be the most specific and detailed versions of what we want to achieve.

Don’t worry about the “how.” This is the hardest part of creating goals. When we are creating a goal we want to know everything and if we don’t we get stressed, anxious, fear kicks in and we are done! Fear stops us from taking any sort of action.

This is normal.

How many times have you created a goal and given up before taking any action, because you don’t know how it's going to play out?

Giving Up on Health Goals

Healthwise it happens the same way. When clients come to me, often they have a physical goal they want to achieve. The truth is that soon enough they realize the goal they set up is not really the goal they need to achieve in the first place but if they hadn't set up the first goal they wouldn’t know that.

When you want to transform your...

Studying Everyday Is My Most Precious Routine!

Good morning, how are you?

One of the most important routines that I do is study. I study every single day. It doesn't have to be a long time, it can be 15 minutes, it can be 20 minutes, in the time that I have. And what I do at the point is I don't study, I don't pretend to read the full chapter because I will do it fast and it's not worth it.

So I just try to read one paragraph, or one page, but understand what the writing is saying. That's the most important thing. I like to study about the science of the mind or brain health and its structure. This is what I like to do. And I have a variety of others. I like Thomas Troward, most of them, Napoleon Hill, Walter Wattles and other authors.

So, just be curious and keep your mind bright!

Breakfast Is A Religion To Me!

Good morning guys, how are you?

Another amazing routine that I like, not like, I love and enjoy every day, is my breakfast. I love having a good breakfast, like coconut yogurt unsweetened, blueberries and walnuts. That fills me up and makes me feel ready to take the day. To me it's very important to eat before I get out of the house, not only because I guess I am used to it but also, it just makes me feel full of energy.

Have a wonderful breakfast!

Routines Are Habits We Practice Consistently

Good morning!

Routines are nothing else but habits that we do consistently. Sometimes it doesn't have to happen every single day. It can happen one or two days a week, but if we do it consistently that becomes a routine.

So today, Mondays and Tuesdays, one of my morning routines is to go to the gym. Usually I go in the afternoon, but those two days I go in the morning because in the afternoon I have a group. So, be very productive today and be aware that routines don't have to happen every single day.

Have a wonderful day!

Morning Routines Are Made To Be Broken

Good morning, guys!

I am heading to LA today. It's 5 am, so its dark outside still.

The morning routines, sometimes are made to be broken. We have to be flexible. We can be structured, we can be consistent, but we don't have to be attached to what we do every single day.

So, today I have no time to do my morning routines, so the routine has to change. And that's okay too. As long as we are prepared or conscious and if we want to do it at night, the last thing before bed, that's okay. So, just be flexible and be open to what can come your way.

Have a wonderful day!
