Good morning!
Today, I woke up with a wicked headache. That means only one thing, that I need to have one day of self-care. First thing I did this morning is go for a walk. I did my morning routines and went for a massage. I feel much better and my headache is completely gone, but I will still keep working today only on self-care. That's a very important one too.
Don't forget about taking care of yourself, love yourself a lot, and spend the weekend just, you know, feeling yourself. Oh, another thing that I'm going to do today is be in nature. I'm going for a hike, but not for exercise, I am going for a hike to spend time in nature, feel it and connect with myself.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Happy Sunday!
As I was walking in downtown, beautiful San Luis Obispo, I was reflecting on the weekend. How everything went and you know there are things that don't work out so well. But I hold onto the things that are really truly amazing, and every week I have some miracle happen.
I was thinking not only in how much gratitude I feel when I can help somebody to get rid of medication. Right now, I feel so grateful because I am certifying people to do the same for so many more. I can't imagine a world where barely anybody needs medication. So it's just amazing.
I'm just grateful and I just wanted to let you know and have a wonderful, wonderful Sunday!
As women, we have the choice to have kids or not, be a stay-at-home mom or working mom, be a business woman or take a hiatus when you have children. Nobody should judge what we do with our body, or with anything else in our life. We make mistakes and we learn, we fall and we get up, with no complaints we go on.
When I decided to adopt my daughter Ili, I was a single mom to my son Pol. I owned a business and I was studying, in someway I always have. I decided to adopt because I’ve always wanted more than one kid, having a daughter was a dream of mine. If I learned something about becoming a mom, it’s the fact that a baby coming from my body or my soul is painful in many ways, sometimes unbearable, but I’m a woman and as a woman we can take a lot of pain with little complaining. Adoptions are never easy, they are complex, tricky and you never get it right the first try so you just have to keep insisting until the day some country, orphanage or government takes your...
Have you ever counted how much time it takes for you to get “back on track” after the holiday season? One day, one week or a whole month?
Some people adjust really quickly and are able to go right back to their everyday routines. For others, it takes what seems like forever. Everyone is very different. Have you ever thought this could be related to your brain functionality?
The cingulate system is the line between the two brains. This line is responsible for managing our ability to shift attention, makes us more adaptable, more flexible or more able to “go with the flow”.
When the cingulate system is too active, we have problems in shifting our activities or habits, and when it is calmer, it’s much easier for us to “go with the flow”.
The cingulate system is the one you want to nourish if you want the ability to adjust faster to new situations. This also applies to returning to our normal...
Have you ever stopped to observe the bite in your fork right before you put it in your mouth?
What are the colors, the convention of foods, the layers, the smell?
Then, the texture in your mouth, the flavors of all different foods.
How that will fill your body and soul? What are the nutrients that contented?
All these question may seem silly or boring but this exercise makes a total difference in the experience of eating.
When I first moved definitely here in California, I was amazed that people weren’t sitting to eat their meal. They ate in the car, on the way or even in the restaurant, it was eating and leaving, and it seemed really fast to me.
I wasn’t used to that, we sat in the table, all together, we ate and talk and share, laugh or had discussions. It was a slow fun tasteful experience 3 times a day! Can you believe that?
Now, I am Americanized.
Although I won’t eat in the car or on the go but meals are not the same, foremost because here I don’t...
We like being comfortable, when we are not, we tend to say that “life is difficult”.
There are so many levels of that sentence, everyone has a bar with his or her own level of difficulty in life, some people can take a lot, some people don’t have the strength or resilience.
I remember something that my grandma used to say, “I don’t want everything I can take, because I can take a lot!”.
Human beings are extraordinary! we can do all sort of things and every day we get better, smarter, stronger, faster, taller,….
We evolve constantly and we don’t even take the time to acknowledge ourselves when we do it or often, we don’t even notice it.
When we grow things get tricky and uncomfortable for a while. Often we think, that “everything comes at once”, “why everything seems so difficult?”.
Those are questions that often arise when we are making changes in life for the reason of getting ourselves in a better...
