Hi Everyone,
My name is Emily and I need to share this experience with you.
So, when I told people in my life that I was going to do a cleanse, many eyebrows lifted. Some of the first reactions to hearing about a cleanse were frightening and acutely misinformed, and so, because of this, I decided to write about my cleanse. Also, to address some of the misconceptions about the process!
Let’s break down some of the top 5 misunderstandings about this cleanse. Keep in mind, this doesn’t apply to all plans and remedies that are out there, but the guided, safe routine 10-day cleanse outlined by Nourish the Brain Institute.
Number One: Going to the bathroom. This has got to win first place for the number of comments I heard when discussing the cleanse. It is not true that being on a specific diet causes one to ‘clear their bowels’ in a rapid, unpredictable, radical way. Do people really do this type of thing to...
I don’t like telling people how to live, just because I have a different set of guidelines for my own nutrition. What happens? The person only is able to filter the message that they are doing something WRONG! They shut off from new information and that is that. Here are some ideas for opening up conversations about healthy food choices.
Start with a question, invite them to reflect:
It seems like you really like that _____, what about it do you like so much? Wait for them to answer...
A) If they reveal that they have guilt, and you should follow up with asking why they eat it if they know it is not healthy.
B) If they show that they haven’t thought about it, showing a lack of awareness, your next move is to ask if they have ever wondered what that food contains, or why it is your ‘go to’ choice?
Would you like to eat differently?
Would you like to do better?
Awareness is...
There is a reason for that, your brain runs out of connections that allow you to take action after the first thought, “I shouldn’t be eating this.” Sugar disables the neurotransmitters in your brain, making it nearly impossible to quit sugar developing addictive behaviors towards this food with no nutritional value or goodness of any sort.
Know where corporations put their sugar to hook you into buying their specific brand. Savor the knowledge that you can read labels, and recognize how the sugar has been hidden, calling it different names with the only intention of tricking you. Why do you think you buy a specific thing and not another one which apparently is the same? The reason is the sugars and monosodium glutamates (MSG) used into this specific brand are designed to confuse your brain into an addiction to their specific brand. They should be prosecuted for this reason, right!?

Hello everyone!
I've been asked what it means to meal prep and how does it look like? I have to prepare four or five meals, different meals and spend all these hours ... And it's not about that.
Meal prep, it means that you go to the store and you buy several things. One is a whole bunch of different vegetables, the other thing can be some whole grains, like brown rice or semi-grains like quinoa, and two or three different types of proteins that you would like to have. For example, you can have chicken or you can have any kind of fish, or you can have tofu. Then when you go home, you just cut the vegetables, you still fry them, you cook the rice or the quinoa, then you still fry or bake the fish and the chicken. Then put everything in boxes and during the week you just mix!
Good morning everybody. Happy Monday!
Do you have a specific habit for meal prep through the week?
I always recommend to my clients, and myself, to meal prep during the weekend. It's very simple, it makes life easier, and if you have food ready for the whole week, it will be less likely that you make a poor choice about eating something unhealthy, fast and quick.
What I recommend is going shopping Saturday or Sunday, or the day that you have off, and right after shopping drop your things in the kitchen and meal prep right then and there. Don't wait, don't put things in the refrigerator, because it's less likely that you will feel inspired to do it. So right after shopping is the best time to do it.
I hope this tip helps you, and I hope you create a new healthy habit!
It's been an incredibly busy time at Nourish the Brain Institute. The launching of the new program Dynamic Nutrition Specialist is something I've been looking forward to for the last six months as our team has been working to build it from the ground up.
From script writing to filming, to the addition of new team members and website features, there is so much to celebrate!
It all started when I had an idea, that I could not have developed fully without the use of my higher faculties.
One day my mentor, Bob Proctor, helped to realize the importance for the world what I do and how that can help many in the world.
“It would be selfish to keep it for yourself, it is your soul calling, you have to educate people about the importance of what you do, how that can heal their brain, body, and mind."
That phrase took me totally out of my comfort zone but didn’t matter whatever would take I was going to do it and I did it....
